Thank you so much for the amazing Retirement Information and Training that you provided earlier this month. I walked into it feeling like I had a decent grasp on planning for retirement, but I learned so much! The knowledge that was provided, as well as the resources available for follow up were amazing. When speaking with my husband once I got home, I told him that it might have been one of the most important days of learning I had in my adult life. I have already followed up with many of the resources offered and I feel so good about planning for retirement at this point. Thank you!

This was such a well put together seminar. The instructors were are willing to be vulnerable and share their experiences. Plus, they give you the tools you need to prepare for your retirement. I highly recommend this training to anyone including their spouses. Don't put it off.

Good afternoon Ty first I wanted to thank you for inviting me to your conference. It was greatly informative and provided eye opening information for us retirees. I would also like to thank you also for introducing Pamela Heward. I have already reached out to her and will be utilizing the tools she’s providing as a guide to re enter the workforce. I have no doubts her knowledge will be invaluable. Great job and thanks again for caring enough to open the doors that our own agencies would not do. We are not alone anymore.

I attended your seminar Feb. 20, 2025, and I wanted to thank you for your very valuable and informational presentation. It made me aware of retirement plans I had not thought of, and you have compiled a great group of professional resources specific to public safety personnel. I highly recommend all public safety professionals to attend the Serving First Responders seminar, it will bring great insight and understanding to the complicated world of retirement planning. Stay Strong and God Bless!

I recently had the privilege of attending the Serving First Responders Retirement Session, and without a doubt, Ty, and Karen’s relentless passion for serving others is truly exceptional. The wealth of resources provided was invaluable, and the session was both engaging and impactful. The atmosphere was one of mutual respect, gratitude, and a shared understanding of the unique challenges first responders encounter as they transition into retirement. Ty and Karen’s delivery of valuable resources, practical tools, and heartfelt encouragement was genuinely inspiring, and their steadfast dedication to those who serve is both evident and commendable.
Thank you

Ty and his wife Karen did an excellent job leading the retirement seminar. I actually attended the seminar twice—once by myself, and the second time with my wife. Anytime my wife can join me to become better informed and gain more understanding as to the nature of our profession, it’s a good thing. Ty and Karen both shared their personal testimonies . They hit on some of the subtle and often hidden realities of being a first responder family. They, along with the other speakers, were all so honest and transparent as they shared with the group, which really opened the room up for authentic conversation. My wife and I really valued the part of the seminar when Karen got to tell her side of things…”Ty carried the gun, I carried the weight.

I attended the Serving First Responders seminar on 12/09/24 and it was great. As an officer approaching retirement, there were several topics introduced and discussed that I had never even thought of. The presenters were friendly, professional, and organized. I definitely feel more prepared as I approach retirement and more confident that I will be experiencing a purposeful retirement thanks to the seminar.

I recently attended the Serving First Responders seminar as I’m getting close to being eligible for retirement. Walking into the seminar, I had a general idea of what I needed to know. However, once I was done, it solidified some of the things I’ve already put into place but gave a much better overview of how to approach retirement. It even allowed for specific follow-up if desired. Definitely recommend taking the time to learn and plan.

We left the seminar feeling more secure about what our future holds post-fire department. Being in a group setting surrounded by people in similar spots as us, we knew we were not alone. There are good, honest people who truly want to help you succeed out there. You will find several of them at this seminar. Thank you Ty & Karen and all your team for serving the first responders well. May God continue to bless your ministry.

I was very impressed by the whole presentation. Not just for the amount and variety of personalize information, but for the genuine concern and desire that everyone had for the wellbeing and success of us first responders. This presentation had it all, it gave me the confidence to know what to expect upon retiring and turned my anxiety into excitement. From the intellectual wealth of knowledge to the emotional heartfelt lessons on mental health, this program is a must see!

I want to personally thank you and your wife for taking the time, energy and resources to create a program such as Serving First Responders. I wish that I would have access to this type of training early in my career. If not early then before I retired from the Phoenix Police Department in 2016. Most public servants always find themselves at the end of their career wondering, did I make the right decisions to help sustain me and my family for the rest of my life? The reality is that most just don't know until they retire. That is the scary part of retiring. The quality of instructors that you have assembled provide valuable information which is followed by real world examples that you, as a soon to be retiree, can apply to your future. Take it from me, a retired Police officer who left the department over 8 years ago, everything that was presented in the training was applicable to what I am still going through in my retired life. Thank you for creating this program and I recommend any public servant at any stage of their career if they have an opportunity to attend this training do not miss it.

Jeff F,

I have known Ty for nearly 25 years and am not surprised that in his retirement he is dedicating himself to helping LE/First Responders entering this new chapter in life. I know Serving First Responders will benefit so many people and Departments throughout Arizona. From mental health assistance, pension advice, to in my case problems in preparing a post Law Enforcement resume , Serving First Responders is there to help.

The transition from sworn officer to a retired civilian can be very difficult. Serving First Responders covers so much more than the financial aspect of just receiving a pension and entering a life outside of law enforcement. Resources provided, such as resume building and assistance in starting your own business, shows Serving First Responders is a forward thinker in the lives of those entering the next stage. Serving First Responders also provides the next "extended family" by providing a community for those that are leaving the brother/sisterhood of policing. Bravo!

I am encouraged, to see the Serving First Responders program gaining momentum. I retired as a police officer in 2017. I recall a departmental presentation or two, on the way out. Basic financial tips, with some very elementary personal advice. “Better find yourself something to do. Don’t just shrivel up on the couch.” Things like that. I knew that work friendships didn’t naturally survive into retirement, that you had to make the effort. I didn’t realize how much effort would be required, and how precious those friendships would become. Now that I’ve found ways to stay connected, and find employment, I wish some more realistic guidance had been provided, at the start.

Indeed glad to see Ty Doolittle involved in this. We worked together on the street, as well as the intel rooms. Quality company, in both settings. Smart fellow, kind hearted, and willing to laugh at ridiculous things. Hope we cross paths soon.

I attended the Serving First Responders Retirement Conference with my husband, and it was such a blessing. I expected it to be just about finances, but it covered so much more—insurance, mental health, family support, and beyond. Ty and Karen’s passion for helping first responders is so genuine, and it truly shows. As a wife of a first responder, I left feeling encouraged, supported, and more prepared for the future.
